Fri Dec 9, 2005 This directory contains files that may be used to install version 2.3 of the mkevals program on either UNIX (including Linux) or WINDOWS machines. If you want to see what the program does, click on mkevals.html, or download and open mkevals.pdf. The file mkevals_install.html (or mkevals_install.pdf) describes how to install mkevals on either UNIX or WINDOWS machines, particularly the latter, since this involves a few extra steps. For those in a hurry: UNIX: (a) Download mkevals-2.3.tar.gz to some convenient directory. (b) gunzip mkevals-2.3.tar.gz (c) tar xvf mkevals-2.3.tar will put source code in the mkevals-2.3 directory (which is automatically created). (d) cd mkevals-2.3 (e) make should compile the program (f) mkevals -h should display a help file (g) mkevals sample.new should provide a sample output (h) Read mkevals.html to see how to draft your evaluations. WINDOWS: (a) Read mkevals_install.html to see what preliminary steps need to be taken, prior to the next step. (b) Download mkevals_setup.exe to your desktop, open it, and follow the steps.
